Day 01 :
Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed and assisted through immigration formalities. The journey to Thimphu unfolds along the picturesque Paro River, passing through charming villages like Bondey and Shaba. En route, take a brief stop at Tachogang Lhakhang, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy views of the Paro River. At Chuzom, witness the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, marked by portraits of Bhutan's King and Queen. Settle into your accommodations in Thimphu, the capital city nestled at an altitude of 2,400 meters.

Day 02 :
Thimphu to Tsirang

Depart Thimphu and ascend to Dochula Pass, which offers a panoramic 180-degree view of the Himalayan mountain range, especially clear on winter days. The pass is adorned with 108 chortens, adding to its serene beauty. Continue your journey, descending into the Wangdue region and proceeding to Tsirang, one of Bhutan's warmest locales. A brief drive through a tunnel adds a touch of adventure to the scenic route.

Day 03 :
Birding in Tsirang

Tsirang, with its warm climate and lush forests, is a haven for bird enthusiasts. Embark on bird-watching excursions in the region's rich biodiversity hotspots. Keep an eye out for various species that inhabit this area. The day's activities are designed to immerse you in the natural beauty and avian diversity of Tsirang.

Day 04 :
Tsirang to Punakha

Depart Tsirang and journey towards Punakha, Bhutan's former capital known for its stunning dzongs and river valleys. Upon arrival, explore the Punakha Dzong, strategically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. The dzong's architecture and historical significance offer a glimpse into Bhutan's rich cultural heritage.

Day 05 :
Birding in Punakha

Punakha's diverse ecosystems make it an ideal location for bird-watching. Visit Tashithang, where you may spot species such as the great barbet, barred cuckoo-dove, and magpie robin. Along the Po Chhu River, look for the elusive white-bellied heron, osprey, and pallas’s fish eagle. The serene environment enhances the birding experience.

Day 06 :
Punakha to Paro

Retrace your route back to Paro, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass once more. En route, stop at the Lamperi Botanical Garden, Bhutan's first nature recreational park. Here, you might encounter rare Himalayan birds like the great parrotbill and Darjeeling woodpecker. Continue to Paro, where the Pa Chhu River offers opportunities to observe water birds such as the ibisbill and brown dipper.

Day 07 :
Birding and Sightseeing in Paro

Begin the day with a visit to Chele La Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan at 3,988 meters. This area is known for sightings of pheasants like the Himalayan monal and blood pheasant. The pass also offers stunning views of Mount Jomolhari on clear days. In the afternoon, explore Paro Valley, visiting landmarks such as the Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum.

Day 08 :
Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)

Embark on a hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley. The trail offers chances to spot birds like the snow pigeon and white-throated laughingthrush. The monastery itself is a sacred site, offering spiritual insights and panoramic views. After the hike, return to Paro for a well-deserved rest.

Day 09 :
Departure from Paro

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure. As you leave the Land of the Thunder Dragon, carry with you memories of Bhutan's natural beauty and avian wonders.
